I’m a little behind in posting but I want to document this year of PreK with Li’l Bit so I am forging ahead. This post will be shorter because of the aforementioned scheduling issues and because I don’t have as many photos of our week 3 adventures.
We were studying Letter A during this week, and Li’l Bit was thrilled to start our Monday off with apple stamping!
Since her brother and sister are studying Botany this year, we all studied the inside of the apple and counted the seeds inside as well!
Some of the other activities Li’l Bit used in her learning adventures were the CVC magnetic letter strips I made for her, which are still available all this month for FREE under my FREEBIE tab above.
She also loved using my letter templates to outline and color in different fonts of the letter A.
We worked together to make an apple from the magnetic pattern blocks.
She also used our Numbers 1-10 cards to practice adding digits up to 5 together. With our little counting cubes, she was able to add numbers with sums up to 10!
She practiced cutting and exercised those finger muscles while cutting out letter As from magazine scraps.
She also used her apple stamps, which I numbered from 1–20 to practice ordering those numbers. She was able to name them all!
She also enjoyed a special and impromptu hour at the park with just Mommy!
On Thursday night, we drove to Reelfoot Lake State Park for the Labor Day Weekend. Friday morning, we visited the nature center where Li’l Bit looked at and petted live snakes, and she also saw just how huge an adult bald eagle can grow. She got to see some live ones as well, who are in captivity due to injury.
Then on Saturday, we went to the Discovery Park of America, which worked our perfectly as we had quite a rain shower for part of the day, but it also cleared off as we headed back outside to explore the outside areas of the park. Li’l Bit’s favorite part of this massive place was definitely the water play area!
During the Letter A week, we read several books with words with the short a sound as well as a few that she just wanted to put in her book bin!
